European Workshop on the future of the Amazon, December 2013

A one-day stakeholder workshop was organised in Brussels on 11 December 2013. It brought together a number of key researchers from the AMAZALERT project, Brazilian stakeholders, and European decision makers and other stakeholders. The workshop had two main objectives. Firstly, dissemination of ongoing work in AMAZALERT by presenting and discussing an overview of the main results of the project. Second, list and discuss European policies by assessing the current situation of policies and other initiatives in Europe to stop deforestation in the Amazon and discussing possible policies and other actions that could be successful under various scenarios. On this page, there are links to the main presentations that were given during the workshop and to a report that describes the methods and results of the workshop.
